What Redondo Beach Has to Offer?

Redondo Beach is the perfect location for those looking to live in the sun and near the ocean. This ocean community has something to offer everyone and is one of three beach cities in Los Angeles, which also includes Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach. Boasting two miles of sandy beaches, Redondo Beach is bordered by the Palos Verdes Peninsula to the south, Hermosa Beach to the north and Torrance to the east.

If you’re looking to relocate, Redondo Beach has an abundance of housing options for you. Some of the residential areas of Redondo include North Redondo, South Redondo, the Hollywood Riviera, the resort living of The Village and Seascape Oceanfront Condominiums, oceanfront condos on the Esplanade and the Golden Hills.

North Redondo is mostly inland and primarily residential. This area is also home to the South Bay Galleria Shopping Center, which is essentially Redondo’s "downtown" area and primary shopping area. Many original homes still stand in North Redondo Beach neighborhoods and this would be the area of Redondo that you will most likely find a reasonably priced single-family home. Due to the abundance of single-family units and condos, North Redondo boasts some of the best neighborhoods, well-kept yards, and an overall quaint character.

South Redondo is a bit more on the quiet side than other areas of Redondo Beach. South Redondo features wide streets, vast beaches, and an overall laid-back atmosphere. This area is made up of several close-knit neighborhoods such as South Broadway, which is known for hosting street parties in the summer that appeal to both young and old.

Situated in the sloping foothills between Redondo Beach and the Palos Verdes Peninsula and extending from the coast inland for a mile, Hollywood Riviera is a community of about 10,000 residents and 3,500 homes. Most people are drawn to this area of Redondo Beach simply because of the spectacular views. In addition to the sprawling views, the Hollywood Riviera is just a short walk away from the beach and an easy commute away from Los Angeles. The architecture in the Hollywood Riviera is Mediterranean style, with much of the original homes being built in the late 1920’s and early 1930’s.

The Golden Hills area of Redondo Beach offers a variety of homes at a great value. Located just east of Hermosa Beach, the homes in the Golden Hills are affectionately known as the "tall and skinnies." The homes here often feature great square footage for much less than home in the nearby Hermosa and Manhattan Beach areas.

In addition to the near-perfect weather and the sandy beaches, Redondo Beach also offers great schools, 15 parks and an abundance of other activities. Residents of Redondo often enjoy activities such as dining at King Harbor, shopping in the Riviera Village, and visiting the Redondo Beach pier. With downtown Los Angeles 23 miles away and LAX just five miles from Redondo Beach, residents also enjoy a life of convenience and leisure.
